Offline AI

Keep working when an internet connection is unavailable.

Offline AI is possible when the application, model, and required data are already present on the device. Glyph can run compatible local models without sending inference to a cloud model, but initial downloads and account-dependent features may still require connectivity.

Prepare before disconnecting

Install Glyph, download and verify the model, and test the workflow while connectivity is available. Store the documents needed for the task locally and confirm that the selected feature does not depend on web search, an external provider, or a remote connector.

Know the boundary

Offline inference does not automatically make every application feature offline. Subscription refresh, software updates, remote model servers, and online sources have separate connectivity requirements. The interface should make the selected destination clear so users can choose intentionally.

For managed devices

Organizations should define how long cached policy remains valid and which sensitive capabilities fail closed when the server cannot be reached. Disconnected operation works best when administrators test the exact device, model, policy, and recovery procedure in advance.
