Product comparison

Glyph and Ollama can be complementary.

Ollama is a model runtime and API. Glyph is an end-user AI workspace. A Glyph workflow can use a supported Ollama endpoint, so the practical comparison is often whether you need only runtime access or a broader application workflow.

Use Ollama with Glyph

Ollama’s role

Ollama downloads, stores, and serves supported models. It is useful for command-line use, APIs, and applications that need a local inference endpoint. Administrators remain responsible for the endpoint’s network exposure and model lifecycle.

Glyph’s role

Glyph adds the user workspace around models, including chat and product workflows described on the Glyph page. It can use supported local or customer-managed endpoints while keeping the selected destination visible. Product availability differs by platform.

Choosing a setup

Use Ollama directly when a runtime or API is the whole requirement. Add Glyph when users need its workspace. In either case, validate model licenses, memory needs, endpoint security, and task quality with the current versions before deployment.
